Änglamark is a premium private label brand that was founded in Sweden by the consumer cooperative Coop in 1991. It was established as a response to the growing demand for organic and environmentally friendly products, initially focusing on green laundry detergents before expanding significantly into food and beverages. The brand is unique because it is a joint Nordic private label, shared across the different national Coop organizations in Scandinavia.

While the brand originated in Sweden, its products are sourced internationally to meet strict organic (Økologisk) and Fairtrade certifications. This specific instant coffee consists of 100% Arabica beans, which are typically grown in South America, Africa, or Southeast Asia and processed in large industrial facilities across Europe. The brand remains under the ultimate ownership of the various national consumer cooperatives, such as Coop Sverige, Coop Danmark, and Coop Norge, reflecting a collective ownership model where the customers are the members and ultimate stakeholders.
