Sanex is a well-known personal care brand that focuses on skin health and dermatological protection. Originally developed in Spain during the 1980s by the company Cruz Verde, it was created as a soap-free brand to help maintains skins natural balance.
Over the decades, the brand's ownership has changed hands through major corporate acquisitions. For many years, it was part of the Dutch-British multinational Unilever. However, to comply with European antitrust regulations following Unilever's acquisition of Sara Lee's personal care business, Sanex was sold to the American multinational Colgate-Palmolive in 2011. While the branding remains strongly associated with European scientific skin care, its ultimate ownership resides with Colgate-Palmolive, headquartered in the United States.
