Jar is a prominent brand of dishwashing detergent primarily sold in Central and Eastern European markets, including the Czech Republic, Slovakia, and Bulgaria. The brand is synonymous with the Fairy brand used in the United Kingdom, Western Europe, and parts of the Middle East. It is recognized for its high-performance dishwashing liquids and automatic dishwasher capsules, such as the Platinum Plus line shown in the image.
The global manufacturing of these dishwashing products is distributed across various European facilities to serve regional markets, including sites in Belgium and the United Kingdom. Although the Jar brand name has deep local roots in the socialist-era history of Czechoslovakia, it has been modernised and integrated into a global cleaning product portfolio.
Today, the brand is owned by the American multinational corporation Procter & Gamble (P&G). As the ultimate owner, P&G manages the brand's research and development as part of its global fabric and home care division. The products are distributed locally through regional subsidiaries like P&G Central Europe, ensuring consistent quality and brand presence across continental markets.
