Göteborgs Kex Jätten is a classic Swedish wafer product known for its light, crispy texture and various fillings, such as chocolate or vanilla. Originally founded in Kungälv, Sweden, in 1888, the brand became a staple of Swedish 'fika' culture.
Starting in 2022 and 2023, manufacturing was moved from the historic Kungälv factory to a new, modern production facility in Adazi, Latvia. This move was part of a larger consolidation strategy by the brand's owner.
The brand is currently owned by Orkla, a leading industrial conglomerate based in Norway. Within the Orkla group, the brand is managed under the Orkla Confectionery & Snacks Sweden division, ensuring its continued presence in the Nordic market.
