Saunier Duval is a prominent French brand with a heritage dating back to 1907. It was founded by Charles Saunier and Maurice Duval and has since become one of the most recognized names in the European heating market. The brand is particularly renowned for inventing the first wall-mounted gas water heater and continues to lead in the development of condensation boilers and air-to-water heat pumps.
While the brand maintains a very strong French identity, with its primary manufacturing hub and R&D center located in Nantes, France, it is part of a global supply chain. The Nantes facility is certified as a 'Showcase for the Industry of the Future' and produces over 120,000 heat pump units annually for export to dozens of countries.
Since 2001, Saunier Duval has been a flagship brand of the Vaillant Group, a German family-owned company. This partnership has allowed the brand to leverage extensive research and development resources while maintaining its local manufacturing roots in France and other European locations like Skalica, Slovakia.
