Água de Luso is one of Portugal's most prestigious and historic mineral water brands, originating from the Luso Thermal Springs in the Serra do Bussaco. The brand's history dates back to 1852, when the therapeutic properties of the water were first officially recognized. The water is celebrated for its purity and low mineralization, qualities derived from the unique geological filtration process through the quartzite rocks of the Bussaco mountain range.

Throughout the 20th century, Luso established itself as a market leader in the Portuguese bottled water industry. Today, the extraction and bottling continue to take place directly at the source in Luso, Mealhada, ensuring the integrity of the natural resource.

Ownership of the brand has transitioned from traditional local thermal management to major corporate entities. It is currently a core part of the Sociedade da Água de Luso, which is under the umbrella of the SCC (Sociedade Central de Cervejas e Bebidas). Since 2008, SCC has been a wholly owned subsidiary of the Heineken Group, the Dutch brewing giant, which integrates Luso into its international beverage portfolio while maintaining its strong Portuguese heritage and local production.
