Braun is a world-renowned German consumer products company founded in 1921 by Max Braun in Frankfurt am Main. Originally focusing on radio components, the brand became famous for its functionalist industrial design led by Dieter Rams. Today, Braun is a leader in the grooming industry, particularly known for its electric shavers and epilators.
While Braun was originally an independent German entity, it was acquired by The Gillette Company in 1967. In 2005, Procter & Gamble (P&G) acquired Gillette, thereby making Braun a wholly owned subsidiary of P&G. It is important to note that since 2012, De'Longhi has licensed the Braun brand name from P&G for use in the small kitchen appliances category, but the grooming and personal care products shown here remain under P&G's ownership and management.
Manufacturing for Braun personal care products is global. While design and some premium manufacturing continue to take place in Germany (specifically in Walldürn and Marktheidenfeld), high-volume consumer electronics like the Series 5 beard trimmers are predominantly manufactured in China to leverage global supply chains.
