Pierre Jourdan is a renowned brand of South African sparkling wine produced by the Haute Cabrière estate. The brand is named after the French Huguenot Pierre Jourdan, who was granted the land in 1694 and planted the first vines. The estate is famous for specializing in the Méthode Cap Classique (MCC), which is the South African term for sparkling wine made using the traditional French Champenoise method.
Located in the Franschhoek Valley, the manufacturing process takes place entirely on the estate, from the growing of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir grapes to the secondary fermentation in the bottle. The von Arnim family has owned and operated the estate for decades, maintaining a legacy of precision and quality that blends French heritage with South African terroir.
The global distribution and ownership remain within the family-run Haute Cabrière structure. As of 2026, the brand continues to be a symbol of South African viticulture, celebrated for its elegance and historical connection to the early settlers of the Western Cape.
