Branston is an iconic British food brand, best known for its original sweet pickle. It was first created in 1922 in the village of Branston, Staffordshire, by the Crosse & Blackwell company. Over the decades, it has become a staple of the British pantry, particularly as an accompaniment to cheese and cold meats in the traditional ploughman's lunch.

While the brand was originally part of the Crosse & Blackwell empire, it has changed hands several times in the modern era. In 2002, it was acquired by Nestlé, and just two years later, it was sold to Premier Foods. In early 2013, the brand was purchased by the Japanese food giant Mizkan. Today, Branston products, including the Small Chunk Piccalilli shown here, continue to be primarily manufactured in the United Kingdom, specifically at the Mizkan plant in Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk.
