Garelick Farms is a heritage dairy brand with roots stretching back to 1931 when the Garelick brothers began selling milk in Franklin, Massachusetts. For over 90 years, the brand has been a staple of the Northeastern United States, specializing in farm-fresh milk, cream, and other dairy products. The company grew significantly over the decades through various regional acquisitions and became a dominant force in the New England dairy market.
In contemporary history, Garelick Farms was part of the Dean Foods portfolio until that company filed for bankruptcy in late 2019. In 2020, the brand and its associated production facilities were acquired by the Dairy Farmers of America (DFA), a massive cooperative owned by thousands of family dairy farmers across the country. Today, the milk is primarily sourced from local dairy farms in the Northeast and processed in regional facilities located in states like Massachusetts and New York, maintaining its commitment to regional freshness under national cooperative ownership.
