Prince Pasta is an iconic American brand with deep roots in the North End of Boston, Massachusetts. Founded in 1912 by three Italian immigrants—Gaetano LaMarca, Giuseppe Semeraro, and Michele Cantella—the company began as a small shop on Prince Street. Over decades, it grew into a household name synonymous with Italian-American tradition, particularly famous for its long-running 'Wednesday is Prince Spaghetti Day' advertising campaign that resonated with families across the United States.
While the brand was born from authentic Italian heritage, its manufacturing has remained firmly in North America. Following a series of corporate acquisitions, the brand transitioned from being a family-owned entity to a key player in the global food market. Today, Prince is part of a large portfolio of pasta brands owned by TreeHouse Foods, which acquired the business from the Riviana Pasta venture. The product continues to be a staple in the American pantry, produced primarily in domestic facilities to serve its core North American consumer base.
