Ziggo is the largest cable operator in the Netherlands, providing digital cable television, Internet, and telephone services to both residential and commercial customers. The brand was formed in 2008 through the merger of Multikabel, Casema, and @Home, creating a unified Dutch telecommunications giant.
Technically, the 'manufacturing' or infrastructure delivery of Ziggo services is localized within the Netherlands, utilizing an extensive hybrid fiber-coaxial network. The company operates its own infrastructure to deliver high-speed connectivity across the country.
In 2014, UPC Netherlands (owned by Liberty Global) acquired Ziggo, and the two companies integrated under the Ziggo brand name. As of today, the brand is owned by VodafoneZiggo Group B.V., a joint venture established in 2016 between Liberty Global and Vodafone Group. This partnership combines Ziggo's robust fixed-line network with Vodafone's mobile expertise to offer converged communications services.
