Acqua di Giò is one of the most iconic fragrances in the world, originally launched in 1996 by the Italian luxury fashion house Giorgio Armani. The fragrance was inspired by the beauty of Pantelleria, where Armani spent his vacations, and it was created to capture the essence of the sea and the sun. While the brand is Italian by soul and design, the production of Giorgio Armani beauty and fragrance products is handled through a long-standing licensing agreement.
Since 1988, L'Oréal has held the exclusive license for the creation and distribution of perfumes and cosmetics under the Giorgio Armani brand. Consequently, while the brand originates from Milan, Italy, the products themselves are manufactured in France, which is the global hub for L'Oréal's luxury fragrance production. The brand remains under the ultimate ownership of the L'Oréal Group, a French multinational company that is the world's largest cosmetics company.
