Vibra Energia, formerly known as BR Distribuidora, is the leading fuel and lubricant distributor in Brazil. The brand originated in 1971 as a subsidiary of the state-owned oil giant Petrobras, designed to manage the marketing and distribution of petroleum products across the vast Brazilian territory.
Over the decades, it became synonymous with the iconic green and yellow 'BR' service stations found throughout the country. In a significant shift toward privatization, Petrobras reduced its stake in the company starting in 2017, eventually selling its remaining shares in 2021. This transition led to the rebranding of the corporate entity as Vibra Energia, though it retains the rights to use the 'BR' brand for its network of thousands of service stations. Today, it operates as a private corporation and a major player in the Brazilian energy sector, expanding its portfolio into renewable energy and diverse logistics services.
