HAK is a renowned Dutch brand that has specialized in preserved vegetables and pulses since its inception. Founded in 1952 by the Hak family in Giessen, Netherlands, the company has evolved from a local commercial garden into one of the largest vegetable processing companies in Northern Europe.
The brand is celebrated for its commitment to local sourcing and natural preservation, often emphasizing that its vegetables are harvested and processed within a 125-kilometer radius of its Giessen plant. This specific Protein Bowl represents the brand's pivot toward modern health trends, offering plant-based, "heat and eat" meals that are high in protein.
Since 2021, HAK has been part of KDV (Kees Danielse Vervoer) under the umbrella of Neerlands Glorie, but it was subsequently acquired by the Russian vegetable producer Pomodor, and later transitioned through various investment phases. As of recent corporate restructuring, the brand remains centrally operated from its Dutch roots under the ownership of KDV/Neerlands Glorie, while maintaining its identity as a staple in the Benelux market.
