Club Penguin

Club Penguin was originally developed by New Horizon Interactive, a Canadian studio based in Kelowna, British Columbia. Launched in 2005, the virtual world quickly became a global phenomenon, particularly among children, for its safe social networking environment and various penguin-themed mini-games.

In 2007, the brand was acquired by The Walt Disney Company. Over the years, the product expanded from its digital roots into various physical merchandise, including toys, books, and console games for platforms like the Nintendo DS. While the original web servers were closed in 2017 to make way for the mobile-focused successor Club Penguin Island, the intellectual property remains under the strict ownership and management of Disney's media and entertainment division, headquartered in the United States.
