Substeps BDD Framework

Substeps is a unique Behavior Driven Development (BDD) framework tailored for the software development ecosystem. Originally developed as an internal tool within Technophobia and later maintained by G2G3 Digital (a subsidiary of Capita PLC), it was created to enhance collaboration between technical and non-technical stakeholders by allowing the nesting of steps into reusable 'substeps'.

Unlike many commercial software products, Substeps has transitioned into a community-driven open-source project. This means its development is decentralized, with contributions coming from software engineers globally. The project is primarily hosted on GitHub under the LGPL-3.0 license, ensuring it remains accessible to the developer community while being maintained by a collective of independent contributors and past corporate sponsors.
