Milka is one of the most iconic European chocolate brands, easily recognizable by its signature lilac packaging and 'Lila' the Alpine cow logo. Originally created in 1901 by the Swiss chocolatier Philippe Suchard in Neuchâtel, Switzerland, the brand's name is a portmanteau of the German words for its primary ingredients: Milch (milk) and Kakao (cocoa).
While the brand has deep Swiss and German roots, it is no longer owned by the original Suchard family. Following a series of mergers through Jacobs Suchard and Kraft Foods, it is now part of the global snacking portfolio of Mondelēz International. The Bunny figures shown are seasonal products produced principally for the Easter market.
Today, Milka products are manufactured in several European locations to serve different markets. Key production sites include Lörrach in Germany, Bludenz in Austria, and plants in Poland and Slovakia. These sites ensure that the brand maintains its 'Alpine Milk' quality standard while distributing across the globe.
