Nacional Cotovelinhos pasta

Nacional is one of Portugal's most historic and recognized food brands, specializing in cereal-based products. Founded in 1849 as 'Companhia Nacional de Moagem', the brand has spent nearly two centuries providing staples like pasta, flour, and biscuits to Portuguese households. The 'Cotovelinhos' (elbow pasta) featured here is made from 100% durum wheat.

Modern production is primarily centered in Portugal, specifically at the Cerealis facilities in Porto and Maia. Since 2021, the brand has been under the ownership of the Spanish group Cerealto Siro Foods, which acquired the Cerealis group, following a joint investment structure. This transition marked a significant shift from a long-standing Portuguese family-owned business to part of a major international food consortium headquartered in Spain.
