Knorr is a global food brand originally founded in Heilbronn, Germany, in 1838 by Carl Heinrich Theodor Knorr. Initially, the company focused on supplying chicory to coffee roasters, but it eventually pioneered the development of dried soups and seasonings. The brand is famous for its 'Fix' line, which provides pre-measured spice mixes for specific dishes, tailored to local tastes in various markets.
While Knorr originated in Germany, it was acquired by the multinational conglomerate Unilever in 2000 as part of its acquisition of Bestfoods. Today, Knorr products are sold in nearly every country, and manufacturing occurs in numerous regional factories to supply local demand. The German market is primarily served by production facilities within Germany and neighboring European countries.
