Tropicana is a globally recognized leader in the fruit juice industry, originally founded in 1947 by Anthony T. Rossi in Bradenton, Florida. Known for pioneering the process of flash pasteurization and chilled transportation of orange juice, the brand became a household name for 'not-from-concentrate' premium products.
While the brand was a long-time staple of the PepsiCo portfolio after being acquired in 1998, its ownership structure changed significantly in recent years. In 2021, PepsiCo sold a majority stake in Tropicana and other juice brands to PAI Partners, a French private equity firm. Today, it operates under the joint venture known as Tropicana Brands Group.
Manufacturing and bottling occurs in multiple locations worldwide to serve local markets; for the UK and European markets, production often takes place in facilities in Belgium, France, or the UK, while North American supplies are primarily processed in Florida.
