Moulinex is a historic brand synonymous with kitchen convenience, founded in France by Jean Mantelet in 1932. The name is a contraction of 'Moulin Express', a vegetable mill he invented to simplify kitchen tasks. For decades, it was one of the most prominent French industrial successes in small domestic appliances.
Today, Moulinex is owned by Groupe SEB (Société d'Emboutissage de Bourgogne), a global leader in small domestic equipment headquartered in Écully, France. Following Moulinex's bankruptcy in 2001, Groupe SEB acquired the brand to expand its portfolio alongside names like Tefal and Rowenta. While some high-end products are still manufactured in France, the majority of the global production for smaller appliances is localized in large-scale manufacturing hubs in China and other Asian territories to maintain competitive pricing.
