Aussie is a popular hair care brand known for its distinctive kangaroo logo and Australian-themed marketing. Founded in 1979 by American businessman Tom Redmond after a trip to Australia, the brand was built on the use of unique Australian ingredients like kangaroo paw flower and eucalyptus.
While the brand maintains a strong Australian identity, its manufacturing is global to support its vast distribution network. For the European and UK markets, products are frequently manufactured in France and other EU locations, while North American supplies are primarily produced in the United States and Mexico.
Since 2003, Aussie has been owned by Procter & Gamble (P&G), a multinational consumer goods giant. Despite the name and branding, the product is an international brand with a historical connection to Australian botanical inspiration rather than being an Australian-owned or manufactured entity.
