BYOMA was founded by Marc Elrick in Glasgow, Scotland, as part of his beauty brand incubator, Future Beauty Labs. The brand was developed specifically to address skin-barrier health after Elrick noticed a trend of consumers over-exfoliating their skin.

While the brand's creative and commercial offices are based in the United Kingdom, the manufacturing of BYOMA products primarily takes place in South Korea, leveraging the country's world-leading skincare technology and formulation expertise.

BYOMA remains under the ownership of Future Beauty Labs, a privately held company based in the United Kingdom that also manages other globally recognized beauty brands like Tan-Luxe and Isle of Paradise. The brand has achieved significant global success, particularly through major retail partnerships across North America and Europe.
