Ruark Audio is a family-owned British brand that has evolved from a specialist loudspeaker manufacturer into a world-renowned purveyor of integrated music systems. Originally founded in 1985 as Ruark Acoustics, the brand initially gained fame for its high-end cabinet speakers characterized by exceptional craftsmanship and acoustic performance. In 2006, the brand pivoted toward digital radio and integrated wireless audio systems, quickly becoming a leader in the premium 'lifestyle' audio segment.

While the engineering, acoustic tuning, and aesthetic design of all Ruark products take place at the company's headquarters in Southend-on-Sea, England, the manufacturing is outsourced to specialized electronics facilities in China. This model allows the brand to maintain high-quality material standards, such as their signature handmade wood cabinets and 'RotoDial' controls, while remaining competitive in the global smart-technology market. The brand remains independent and is still managed by the founding O'Rourke family.
