Salomon is a world-renowned outdoor sports equipment brand, heavily associated with mountainous activities like skiing and trail running. The X Ultra series, shown in the image, is one of their most popular hiking shoe lines, recognized for its stability and lightweight design.
Founded in 1947 by François Salomon in the French Alps, the company originally specialized in saw blades and later ski edges. Over the decades, it transformed into a global powerhouse for outdoor gear. While the brand was born in France, the manufacturing of its footwear is now conducted globally, primarily in Asian countries such as Vietnam, China, and Cambodia. In terms of ownership, Salomon has transitioned through several major corporate hands; it was acquired by Adidas in 1997, and subsequently sold to the Finnish group Amer Sports in 2005. Today, Amer Sports—and consequently Salomon—is owned by a consortium led by the Chinese sportswear giant Anta Sports.
