Siggi's is an Icelandic-style yogurt brand, known as skyr, founded by Siggi Hilmarsson. The brand's journey began in New York in 2004 when the founder started making skyr in his kitchen because he missed the traditional Icelandic recipe which is thicker and less sweet than American yogurt. The brand quickly gained popularity for its high protein content and simple ingredient list.

While the brand originated in the United States based on Icelandic traditions, its global footprint expanded significantly following its acquisition. For the European market, particularly products labeled in French as seen in the image, manufacturing is often handled within the European Union, notably in France, to ensure freshness and logistical efficiency. This allows the brand to maintain its commitment to quality while reaching a broader audience.

Today, Siggi's is owned by the French dairy giant Lactalis, which acquired the parent company, Icelandic Provisions, and the Siggi's brand in 2018. Under Lactalis, Siggi's has continued to expand its product lines while keeping the original philosophy of simple ingredients and low sugar at its core.
