Tony's Chocolonely is a Dutch confectionery brand founded in 2005 by journalist Teun van de Keuken. The brand was established with a mission to make 100% slave-free chocolate the norm within the industry. While the company is headquartered in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, the majority of its chocolate bars are manufactured in Belgium by Barry Callebaut, a major partner that helps maintain their supply chain standards.
Over the years, the brand has grown from a local Dutch initiative into an international powerhouse. Today, the company remains largely independent with investment from Verlinvest, a Belgian investment firm, which holds a majority stake. This partnership has allowed Tony's to expand its distribution globally while continuing its advocacy for fair trade and ethical sourcing across the cocoa industry.
