Beck's Gold is a milder, less bitter pilsner-style beer produced by the historic Brauerei Beck & Co. The brand was founded in 1873 in Bremen, Germany, by Ludder Rutenberg, Heinrich Schliemann, and Thomas May. The iconic key logo is based on the coat of arms of the city of Bremen.

Starting from its German origins, the brand grew into a massive international exporter. In 2002, the family-owned brewery was sold to Interbrew, which later became part of InBev and ultimately Anheuser-Busch InBev (AB InBev). While Beck's is brewed under license in various countries for local markets, the Beck's Gold variety is primarily associated with German production and distribution.
