Kalev Soolakaramellibatoon

Kalev is the historical heart of Estonia’s confectionery industry, with a legacy dating back to 1806 when Georg Stude founded a confectioner’s shop in Tallinn. This specific product, the Soolakaramellibatoon (Salted Caramel Chocolate Bar), represents the brand’s modern approach to traditional chocolate making, combining smooth milk chocolate with a salted caramel filling.

Today, Kalev operates as a premium brand under Orkla Eesti AS, part of the Norwegian multi-national Orkla Group. The manufacturing occurs in a state-of-the-art factory in Jüri, Estonia, from where it supplies both the domestic market and exports to neighboring Northern and Eastern European countries. The ownership transitioned through various privatization stages post-independence, eventually being fully integrated into Orkla to leverage global distribution networks while maintaining its Estonian identity.
