Pitsos is one of the most historic Greek brands, founded in Athens in 1865. Originally starting as a small workshop for metal manufacturing and kitchenware, it grew over the century to become a household name in Greece for domestic appliances. The brand is deeply integrated into Greek culture, known for its longevity and reliable manufacturing quality.
While the brand has its roots in Greece, the manufacturing landscape changed significantly in the late 20th century. Today, Pitsos brand appliances are part of a global supply chain. Most air conditioning units under this label are manufactured in modern facilities in China or elsewhere in Asia under the supervision of its parent company, though the brand identity remains firmly Greek.
In terms of ownership, Pitsos was acquired by the German giant Bosch and Siemens Hausgeräte GmbH (BSH) in the 1970s. Since 2015, BSH has been a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Bosch Group. Consequently, while consumers interact with a legacy Greek brand, the ultimate corporate ownership and technical engineering are managed from Germany as part of the Bosch product portfolio.
