Meta Portal

Meta Portal, originally launched as Facebook Portal, is a line of smart displays and videophones developed by Meta Platforms (formerly Facebook, Inc.). The product line was first introduced in 2018 to facilitate video calling via Messenger and WhatsApp, featuring an AI-powered camera that automatically pans and zooms to keep users in frame.

While the brand was conceived and designed in the United States, the physical hardware components are primarily manufactured in China. Over the years, the product line expanded to include various models like the Portal Mini, Portal TV, and Portal Go. However, in late 2022, Meta announced a shift in strategy, pivoting away from the consumer hardware market for Portal to focus on business-to-business (B2B) applications and enterprise communication solutions.
