In 2017, Ecover, along with its American sister brand Method, was acquired by S. C. Johnson & Son. This acquisition moved the brand from private equity ownership into the portfolio of a major global consumer goods corporation, though Ecover maintains its specific focus on plant-based and mineral ingredients.
