The Sherman T10 Mine Exploder was an experimental armored vehicle developed by the United States during World War II. Based on the chassis of the M4A4 Sherman tank, it was designed to clear minefields by using massive, heavy rollers that would detonate landmines through pressure before they could damage trailing vehicles or infantry.
Originally conceived by the National Defense Research Committee (NDRC) and manufactured in limited prototype quantities in the USA, the project was part of a series of 'mine exploder' (T-series) experiments. Although the design was innovative, it proved to be extremely heavy—weighing nearly 50 tons—and ungainly in soft terrain, leading to its eventual cancellation in favor of mine flails like the Crab. Today, the design remains a notable example of military engineering experimentation during the 1940s.
