Fontanafredda Barolo is a prestigious red wine produced in the Langhe region of Piedmont, Italy. The brand is deeply rooted in Italian history, founded in 1858 by Vittorio Emanuele II, the first King of Italy, on an estate previously owned by the royal family. The wine is made from 100% Nebbiolo grapes, harvested and bottled locally to meet the strict requirements of the DOCG (Denominazione di Origine Controllata e Garantita) status.
Today, the brand and the historic estate are owned by the Eataly group, following its acquisition by businessmen Oscar Farinetti and Luca Baffigo. The production continues to emphasize traditional methods combined with modern sustainable practices, maintaining its status as one of the most recognizable names in Italian viticulture. The brand is distributed worldwide, often found in high-end retailers and Eataly locations across Europe and North America.
