Sanex is a well-established personal care brand that has its roots in Spain, where it was first launched in 1984 as the first dermatological bath and shower range for the mass market. The brand's philosophy has always centered on skin health and maintaining the skin's natural balance. Although it originated in Spain, it quickly became a household name across Europe, particularly in the United Kingdom, France, and Benelux.
Over the decades, the ownership of Sanex has transitioned through major global corporations. It was originally developed by the Spanish company Cruz Verde. In later years, it became part of the Sara Lee Corporation. A significant change occurred in 2011 when the brand was acquired by Colgate-Palmolive from Unilever (who had briefly acquired it through the purchase of Sara Lee's body care division but was required to sell Sanex due to European Union antitrust concerns).
Today, Sanex products are manufactured in various European facilities, with a significant portion of production coming from Colgate-Palmolive's plants in Italy. The brand remains a key part of the Colgate-Palmolive portfolio, positioned as a science-backed skincare brand focused on minimalist formulas and skin protection.
