Peppa Pig is a world-renowned British preschool animated television series that first premiered in 2004. Created by Neville Astley and Mark Baker, it was developed by their studio, Astley Baker Davies. The brand quickly grew from a television show into a global multi-media franchise, spanning books, toys, clothing, and theme parks.
Following its initial success, the brand underwent significant corporate ownership changes. In 2015, Entertainment One (eOne) acquired a Majority stake in Astley Baker Davies, later taking full control. In 2019, the American toy giant Hasbro acquired eOne in a multi-billion dollar deal, bringing Peppa Pig under its extensive portfolio of iconic brands.
While the creative heart of the series originated in the United Kingdom, manufacturing of physical merchandise—such as toy figures, playsets, and apparel—takes place in multiple countries globally, with a significant portion of toy production occurring in China and Southeast Asia to meet international demand.
