AMD Vitis Unified Software Platform

AMD Vitis is a comprehensive software platform that enables developers to leverage the power of Xilinx hardware, including FPGAs, SoCs, and AI Engines. Originally developed by Xilinx Inc., the platform was designed to unify software, IP, and hardware development into a single environment, making high-performance heterogenous computing more accessible.

Following the acquisition of Xilinx by AMD in 2022, the Vitis platform became a core part of AMD's adaptive computing portfolio. The software is developed primarily in the United States and is used globally by engineers to build applications ranging from video analytics to high-frequency trading and data center acceleration. As of 2026, it remains under the ultimate ownership of Advanced Micro Devices (AMD).
