Saunier Duval is a historic French brand founded in 1907 by Charles Saunier and Maurice Duval. It gained prominence for pioneering the world's first wall-hung gas water heater and remains a key player in the European heating market. Today, while it retains its French roots and heritage, the brand is part of a larger global manufacturing network. Production occurs across various European sites, with significant facilities in Nantes, France, as well as in other regions to serve the international market.

In 2001, Saunier Duval was acquired by the Vaillant Group, a major German heating technology company. This ownership has allowed the brand to benefit from advanced resource sharing in research and development. Under the Vaillant Group, Saunier Duval focuses on sustainable heating solutions, including high-efficiency condensing boilers and heat pump technology, maintaining its strong presence particularly in the French, Spanish, and Italian residential markets.
