Indesit is one of Europe's most recognizable brands for domestic household appliances. Founded in Italy, it became a symbol of Italian industrial growth throughout the 20th century, known for providing affordable and reliable appliances for families. Evolution in the global market led to several corporate shifts, notably when the company was acquired by the American corporation Whirlpool in 2014.

In a major strategic shift occurring between 2023 and 2024, Whirlpool entered into a joint venture with the Turkish industrial giant Arçelik. This led to the formation of Beko Europe, which now oversees the Indesit brand alongside other household names. Manufacturing is decentralized across various global sites to serve different regional markets, with a significant presence in Eastern Europe and Turkey.
