Freixenet is one of the world's most iconic producers of Cava and sparkling wine, with a history dating back to 1861 in the Sant Sadurní d'Anoia region of Catalonia, Spain. The brand was established by the union of two winemaking families, the Ferrers and the Salas, and rose to global prominence with its signature 'Carta Nevada' and 'Cordon Negro' sparkling wines. This specific product represents the brand's expansion into the low-alcohol and alcohol-free market, utilizing vacuum distillation to remove alcohol while preserving the aromatic profile of the wine.
Today, the brand is a cornerstone of the Henkell Freixenet group, following a major acquisition/merger in 2018. While its roots and primary production facilities remain in Spain, the parent company is based in Germany. The manufacturing for their classic line and non-alcoholic sparkling products continues to be centered in Spain, leveraging traditional viticulture techniques combined with modern de-alcoholization technology.
