Cetaphil is a world-renowned skincare brand originally developed in 1947 by a pharmacist in the United States. Its first product, the Cetaphil Cleansing Lotion, laid the foundation for a brand focused on gentle, dermatological-grade skincare suitable for sensitive skin.
Today, Cetaphil products are manufactured in several locations globally to meet international demand, with large-scale production facilities located in Canada and Brazil. The brand has transitioned from its early pharmaceutical roots to become a cornerstone of the global consumer health market.
Cetaphil is owned by Galderma, a major Swiss-based pharmaceutical and medical dermatology company. Galderma was originally a joint venture between Nestlé and L'Oréal but became a standalone company in 2019 after being acquired by a consortium of institutional investors led by EQT Partners.
