Millet is a storied French mountain sports brand that originated in the 1920s, gaining international fame for supplying the backpacks used during the first successful ascent of Annapurna in 1950. The brand evolved from a manufacturer of shopping bags into a leader in technical mountaineering equipment and apparel.

The Drynamic Mesh line represents their innovation in moisture management, utilizing a high-mesh fabric designed to pull sweat away from the skin to prevent chilling during high-intensity alpine activities. While the brand is rooted in Annecy in the French Alps, its manufacturing is distributed globally, with production facilities across Europe and Asia to meet international demand.

Following several ownership changes, Millet is currently part of the Millet Mountain Group. In 2022, ownership returned to its historical roots when Jean-Pierre Millet, the grandson of the founders, acquired the company from the Swiss Lafuma Group (Inspire Brands) in partnership with Inspiring Sport Capital, ensuring the brand remains under French leadership into the mid-2020s and beyond.
