Originally established in the 1970s, the brand emphasized high-quality ingredients and a 'rural love' aesthetic, sourcing milk from local farmers under strict quality standards.

For many years, the brand was a cornerstone of the Dutch cooperative FrieslandCampina's German operations. However, in early 2023, the brand underwent a significant change in ownership. It was acquired by the Müller Group (Unternehmensgruppe Theo Müller), a massive family-owned dairy multinational. Today, Landliebe products continue to be manufactured primarily in Germany, maintaining their traditional branding while benefiting from Müller's extensive distribution network.
