OLW (Old London Wasa) is a iconic Swedish brand that has become a staple of Scandinavian snack culture. Founded in 1967 as a joint venture between the Swedish crisp company Wasabröd and the American snack food company Borden Foods, it was established in Filipstad, Sweden, where much of its production still takes place today. The brand is particularly famous for its 'Cheez Doodles' and its wide range of potato chips, which are deeply integrated into the Swedish tradition of 'fredagsmys' (Friday night coziness).
Over the decades, ownership of the brand shifted. Today, OLW is a flagship brand under the Orkla Confections & Snacks Sweden division. Its primary manufacturing hub remains the factory in Filipstad, which is one of the largest snack production facilities in the Nordic region, ensuring that the products maintain their local heritage and quality standards while being distributed throughout Sweden and neighboring markets.
