i Bibanesi are unique baked snacks that sit between bread and breadsticks. They were created in the late 1980s by the Da Re family in Bibano di Godega di Sant'Urbano, a small town in the Treviso province of Italy. The name 'Bibanesi' reflects this geographical heritage and has since become a recognized symbol of Italian artisanal baking quality.
The product is distinguished by being 'stirati a mano' (hand-stretched) and utilizing high-quality ingredients like extra virgin olive oil and a long natural leavening process of over 22 hours. This artisanal approach ensures that no two breadsticks are exactly the same size or shape, a characteristic highlighted on their packaging to underscore their non-industrial, traditional craftsmanship.
Ownership remains strictly within the founding families. Unlike many commercial snack brands that have been acquired by multinational conglomerates, i Bibanesi is still produced by Da Re S.p.A. at their original manufacturing site in Italy, preserving the local tradition and quality standards that defined the brand at its inception.
