The Slyngestol, also known as the Sling Chair or 'Gynge-stolen', is a classic piece of Danish mid-century modern furniture. Designed by Kay Kørbing in the 1950s, it is characterized by its minimalist triangular wooden frame and suspended fabric sling.
Originally produced by the Danish manufacturer P. Jeppesen (PJ Furniture), these chairs are renowned for their ergonomic comfort and architectural silhouette. While vintage models remain highly sought after in the collectors' market, the design represents the height of Scandinavian functionalism. Manufacturing was historically centered in Denmark, utilizing high-quality joinery and craftsmanship that the country is world-famous for.
