Brigg is a world-renowned name often referred to as the 'Rolls Royce' of umbrellas. Established in 1836 by Thomas Brigg, the brand quickly became synonymous with the highest level of British craftsmanship. In 1943, the company merged with the leather specialist Swaine Adeney to form Swaine Adeney Brigg.

The umbrellas are meticulously handmade in England using traditional techniques. They are famous for their solid-wood stems and handles, often carved from a single piece of wood such as hickory, oak, or whangee (bamboo). Brigg was famously documented as the supplier of umbrellas to the British Royal Family, having held its first Royal Warrant under King Edward VII. Today, the brand remains an icon of British heritage and classic cinema, notably featuring in films like Singin' in the Rain. It is currently part of the Swaine London group, which continues to preserve these artisanal manufacturing processes in its United Kingdom workshops.
