Läkerol is a classic Swedish brand of throat lozenges and pastilles, originally founded in 1909 by Adolf Ahlgren in Gävle. The brand became famous for its 'A' logo, which stands for Ahlgren, and its signature products were initially marketed for their soothing effects on the throat. Since its inception, Läkerol has expanded its range to include various flavors and sugar-free options.
Today, the brand is owned by the Swedish-Dutch confectionery giant Cloetta. While the brand has deep historic roots in Sweden, manufacturing for much of the range, including functional pastilles and Bon Bons, has been moved to Cloetta's modern production facilities in Slovakia to serve the international market. Cloetta continues to manage the brand as a flagship within its Nordic portfolio.
