Starbucks Nespresso capsules represent a unique strategic partnership between two of the world's most recognizable coffee brands. While Starbucks originated in Seattle, Washington, USA, in 1971, the production of these specific 'Starbucks at Home' products is managed through a Global Coffee Alliance formed with Nestlé in 2018.

Nestlé, a Swiss multinational, holds the perpetual rights to market Starbucks consumer-packaged goods and foodservice products globally, outside of Starbucks coffee houses. Consequently, most Nespresso-compatible Starbucks capsules are manufactured in Nestlé's state-of-the-art production facilities located in Switzerland. The coffee beans themselves are internationally sourced, in this case specifically from Colombia, before being processed and packaged in Europe for global distribution.
